CAMEROON : THE SENATE CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO CANCEL THE GRANT tobacco growing

At the plenary session devoted to questions to the Government on December 11 , Senator Pierre Henri NGALLI NGOA asked it to explain the financing of tobacco growing in Cameroon (500 million CFA francs in 2013) , while the Cameroon has ratified the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) .
In fact, officially , the State is engaged in tobacco control, but allocates the same time significant subsidies to tobacco farmers . This situation has often led civil society to express its indignation in various forms , so denunciations among parliamentarians and members of government.
